Vinnie Johnson is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Piston Group, LLC the largest minority-owned manufacturing company in North America.

Since founding the company in 1996, Vinnie has led its growth into a diversified enterprise that includes Piston Automotive, LLC, Piston Interiors, LLC and Detroit Thermal Systems, LLC, generating more than $3 billion in annual revenue and employing over 10,000 team members in the US, Mexico and Canada.

As Chairman and CEO, Vinnie provides strategic leadership and active day-to day operational oversight across Piston Group, LLC and its family of companies. He sets the organization’s long-term vision, guides business priorities and ensures strong governance, performance and accountability across the enterprise.

As a visionary entrepreneur and industry leader, Vinnie has played a central role in building successful partnerships and joint ventures throughout the automotive sector, positioning Piston Group, LLC as a trusted supplier to leading global automotive manufacturers.

Before launching Piston Group, LLC, Vinnie earned national recognition as a member of the Detroit Pistons’ back-to-back NBA Championship teams in 1989 and 1990. He remains a passionate advocate for community outreach, supports numerous charitable organizations and founded the Vinnie Johnson Foundation which is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for children in Detroit and other urban communities.
