Vik Shah
Vik is a C-Suite executive with extensive experience in leading complex global manufacturing businesses that deliver sustainable and long-term growth. With 28 years of experience (26 years at Woodbridge), Vik has led multiple business units ranging from $50M to $1.4B with global footprints in a highly competitive automotive landscape.
Most recently Vik’s portfolio consisted of P&L responsibility for multiple business units which included 35 manufacturing plants in nine different countries. As the group president, Vik was able to deliver significant EBITDA growth through optimizing capacities, restructuring non-performing plants, and forming strategic customer partnerships. Targeting cost reduction and operational efficiency, Vik fostered lean manufacturing principles throughout the organization. Prioritizing customer intimacy and strategic business development, he led efforts to win new contracts, institute sustainable pricing models, and exit non profitable contracts with both the traditional ICE and growing EV segments. To diversify and grow the company’s portfolio, Vik spearheaded the development of a key joint venture with an industry competitor and led a business acquisition into a new product segment.
Previously, Vik was the Chief Technical Officer. In this role, Vik was responsible for the development and commercialization of new chemical formulations, product applications, and process/manufacturing technologies. To monetize the creative innovation effort and drive significant return on investment, Vik deployed the stage-gate development model. Ensuring progress, he developed metrics for the company to measure success of both product enhancements and new product. Focusing on development discipline allowed him to eliminate the traditional pitfalls of scope creep and endless development. As a pragmatic technocrat, Vik effectively navigated between the “technical” mindset to the “business” mindset, ensuring innovation led towards value creation.
Vik holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering (BSME) from The University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) and a master’s in business administration (MBA – Finance) from Oakland University (Rochester, MI).
